BPW Greater Sudbury Celebrates International Women’s Day – March 8, 2017
International Women’s Day is a global day that has been around for over a century and aims to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women everywhere. This day is also a monumental day to take action for accelerating gender parity that still exists worldwide. International women’s day is about celebrating the collective efforts of all those who care about human rights, it is about celebrating unity, advocacy and action at a global scale.
In celebrating women not only this coming March 8th, BPW Greater Sudbury is dedicated to ensuring that women are celebrated and recognized every day of the year, and has launched their Woman of the Month Campaign which aims to celebrate women within the community for their outstanding contributions.
“We look to women in the community who continue to work hard to make our community a beautiful place, and sometimes that means they have to face many challenges in doing so, and for their efforts we believe we need to celebrate them. We also believe that in celebrating one woman every month, we celebrate all women collectively,” Carol Stahl, President of BPW Greater Sudbury noted in regards to their Women of the Month Campaign.
BPW is also celebrating women with their BPW Greater Sudbury Business Awards Gala. This monumental gala focuses on recognizing Women with a formal celebration and recognition event. This year the Gala is being held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Hellenic Center in Sudbury. Nominations are currently open and can be completed online by visiting: www.bpwgreatersudbury.com. Deadline for applications is March 31st, 2017.
