In her role in management within Sears for almost 20 years, Bev worked diligently with people to contribute to local organizations and raise funds for various events while she took on various management roles throughout the Sudbury location. As manager at Sears she contributed to the growth and cause marketing strategies which included initiating a round-up program at Sears Sudbury with Better Beginnings, which to date has raised over $80,000. She was also team captain for the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life, and CIBC Run for the Cure as well as organized fundraising events at Sears for Kids With Cancer. Bev was also a team leader at Sears and had participated as a representative for Sears at the Sears Drama Festival since 2000 to 2010
Now retired, Bev has not slowed down in the least bit. She continues to contribute her time to various local organizations throughout the community. Bev has been a Board of Directors member for Summerfest Foundation since 1999, helping to organize Summerfest and manage various aspects of the event. She was an Angel in Pink of the Breast Cancer Equipment Fund for over five years. To date, Angels in Pink has raised over $400,000 for the purchase of life saving equipment for our local Cancer Center. Bev has also been a Board of Directors member of the Northern Cancer Foundation since 2013.
More recently, since 2016, Bev has volunteered her time with the Foundation Board of Directors for the Capital Campaign for Maison McCullough Hospice and has chaired the Hospice Gala for the last two years. She now also serves on the executive for the New Sudbury Days; She is an executive with Keeping Seniors Warm; Member and volunteer for the Nickel Belt Liberal Riding Association; A proud member of the Fundraising Committee for the new Ronald McDonald Room at HSN and is a committed member of the Parish Council at Holy Redeemer Parish.
