Past President – Rachel Proulx
Secretary – Anne Finlay
Anne suspects that her love of business and entrepreneurial sprit is in her genes as Anne’s dad and the three generations before him all owned businesses in the Kingston and Harrowsmith areas. Volunteerism and making a meaningful contribution to your community comes from her mom’s side of the family. Over the years Anne has been a volunteer in differing capacities with Girl Guides of Canada, Home & School Association, The Kidney Foundation, Heart & Stroke, The Arthritis Society, Easter Seals, the Ontario Arts Council, and is a regular blood donor with Canadian Blood Services. She’s quick to credit both parents for her love of the arts. This was an ever present influence in her home while growing up. She has held leadership roles at Fringe Nord/Fringe Festival, Northern Lights, and The Sudbury Symphony, and currently sits as member of the Arts Panel for the City of Greater Sudbury.
Anne has lived and worked outside of Canada, and in other provinces but has proudly called Sudbury home since 1988.
She started her insurance career in her family’s business in 1977 in Kingston. In the years to follow her travels allowed her the opportunity to work in many other sectors over the years –education, health care, and the arts, she enjoys the business world the most. She recently retired from insurance to start up a small business of her own – a mobile retail business – Annie’s Books, Gifts, and More. She provides convenience, great pricing, and diverse products to businesses and institutions in the north through her mobile service.
Anne has been married to the love of her life – Roger – for 32 years and they have two great kids – Sarah and Christopher who are out in the world doing good things.
Anne values the wonderful opportunities to connect with other business and professional women through BPW and looks forward to continuing to serve on the board in the role of secretary.
